The Heads Up Neuropsychology evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of cognition; it assesses all domains of cognitive functioning, including general intellectual ability, Attention and Concentration, Learning and Memory, Visual-Spatial functioning, Executive functions, Academic achievement, and mood. The evaluation takes place over five sessions. The first session consists of the initial interview with the parents (or adult patient) and typically lasts an hour to an hour and a half. Testing occurs over the following three session. Each testing session is two hours in length, although shorter sessions may be more appropriate for younger children or in special circumstances. For children especially, it is highly recommended that testing sessions take place in the morning to minimize effects of fatigue on the child’s performance. The last session is a feedback session during which Dr. Alterescu will discuss and explain the results of the evaluation, carefully review the recommendations and provide the final written report.
